Alien With Textures...







Here's the first set of textures for the alien courtesy of Bob... I think the texture works really well, even without a bump map on there. But i can't help feeling it looks a bit wet and plasticky at the moment. Just a couple of corrections for Bob though:

  1. ahhhh daaaaamn....well I thought this would happen the first time round lol. Okay, I'll try to take that out later. Also with the 'plasticness' I think a bump/spec will take out that effect hopefully lol..obviously i'll sort them out after the original match's up. Hows the claws look all around?

  2. Well the plasticness is coming directly from the shader settings. Obviously there's no specularity map on there yet, which will help control it, but you can bring the spec down still for these renders.

  3. Get Crazy bump Bob and generate normal maps from photos of materials and stuff. You can generate a normal map for the skin via photos, saves having to sculpt all that detail with the time you have left.
